In 1975, Mr. Raju established his food grains agency in Udumalpet, Tamil Nadu. Udumalpet is well-known for its fertile land, irrigated by the Parambikulam Aliyar Dam, making it a prime area for grain production. Initially, Mr. Raju supplied grains and pulses for human consumption. Over time, he expanded into supplying stock feed to industries across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. Later, Mr. Raju’s son, Mr. Elil, took the business to new heights. He relocated to Australia, where he ventured into fruit and vegetable distribution while also establishing a stock feed export trading business under the name CSN Aussie Grains.
CSN Aussie Grains is a family business founded by the late C.S. Nachimuthu Chettiar, fondly known as Raju, in the southern part of the Indian subcontinent. Mr. Raju’s father was a forest timber contractor in the Thirumoorthy Hills and surrounding areas. Raju’s partner, Mrs. Harikrishnammal, also known as Bangaru Ammal, came from a family of timber and oil merchants. Together, their business operations spanned the regions of Pollachi and Kollangodu.
